Nach einem kurzen Stop beim Barber Shop &#8211; Salome liess sich die Ohren stechen, fuhren wir weitere 300 Kilometer entlang an Zuckerrohrplantagen. Man hat das Gef\u00fchl, \u00fcberhaupt nicht vom Fleck zu kommen. Es wird sp\u00fcrbar w\u00e4rmer (vor allem in der Nacht) und feuchter. Bei Townsville ist die Grenze zwischen trockenem, subtropischem Klima und feuchten tropischen Klima.<\/p>\n<p>Kurz vor Townsville sahen wir einen Abzweiger mir &#8222;Billabong Sanctuary&#8220; angeschrieben. Eine willkommene Abwechslung w\u00e4hrend der doch recht eint\u00f6nigen Reise auf dem Bruce Highway.<\/p>\n<p>Das Billabong Sanctuary ist eine Art Tierpark mit den Verschiedensten Tieren wie Salzwasserkrokodile, Koalas, Wombats, Wasserschildkr\u00f6ten, Dingos, verschiedenste Vogelarten und vieles mehr. Die Krokodile wurden in der Umgebung von Townsville (z.B. am Strand) aufgegriffen und haben nun im Billabong Sanctuary ihr Gehege. Nun heisst es f\u00fcr uns so langsam am Wasser die Augen aufzumachen und aufzupassen. Solch einem Kerli will man wirklich nicht zu nahe kommen.<\/p>\n<p>Wir hatten das Gl\u00fcck ein paar der Tiere selbst zu halten und nutzten die Gelegenheit nat\u00fcrlich f\u00fcr ein paar Erinnerungsfotos. Den\u00a0 Kindern war das Grinsen bis am Abend nicht mehr aus dem Gesicht zu nehmen \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Nun verbringen wir einen Tag in Townsville, besichtigen die Stadt und ziehen dann morgen
